As we were in the taxi to visit our friends at the next resort over from the Barcelo Karmina Palace where we are staying, as we passed the pure white washed buildings it hit me. This reminds me of Santorini in Greece.
Then as we rumbled over the cobblestone curved road going almost straight up the steepest of hills I nearly gasped as I looked over the side to see yachts anchored in the harbour, in likewise similar fashion as Santorine.
The sun was setting on this idylic scene and I could not stop to take a photo.
I will be going back before we go home on Tuesday and I will transfer some of them onto a future blog.
The Barcelo Karmina Palace really is a georgeous resort, exclusively represented here by Transat Holidays.
The meals have been exceptionally good so far, and last night’s meal at the Italian restaurant the best so far.
We have walked and worked out, and eaten and eaten.
Input versuses output. I haven’t figured out which side is winning yet but with every drink and meal I am doing ever increasing workout regimes.
Today we have hired a driver/guide for a full day trip of the region.
This taxi guy was recommended by our friends who used him so we are feeling somewhat confident.
Still a good deal since a similar tour would cost us the same and we would be in the usual crowded bus with lots of off and on slow stops.
The area near the Barcelo is quiet but I know that today not far off we will find lots of interesting sites and scenes.
