This spring the centre of the earth decided it needed breathing room and choose Iceland as its escape hatch.
Pushing a hole through the earth it spewed hot volcanic ash for days, which spread itself thoughout the whole of Europe.
Flights were cancelled for days and even weeks costing the industry millions if not billions.
Peoples plans to return home…or for the perfect holiday were disrupted completely.
Among those affected were my wife and me as we were on our way to Venice to host a cruise of a lifetime on board the SilverSea’s Silver Wind.
We were excited about this trip.
It was the first time we would have cruise with this line and the ‘all inclusive’ nature of it really appealed to us.
Instead we cooled our heels in Toronto until it became evident that like the song we said to each other ‘We ain’t goin nowhere’.
Well, time has passed and we are going.
We are again schedule to host a group on board the same ship with a similar itinerary leaving from Venice on May 9 of 2011.
I love this itinerary because we will go into Venice early and stay a few days after we disembarque in Rome a week later.
In the meantime we will have seen some great sites and experience some exceptional cultures in our other port stops.
The itinery is as follows and we like it.
Venice, Italy to Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy7 Days – Silver Wind – Voyage 2112 May 9th, 2011
09 May 2011
10 May 2011
If you are interested in joining us on this cruise email me directly at email@example.com or phone the travel agency during business hours at 204 942-5000.

We would love to have you on board.
