Because the Viva Elvis show is a presentation of Cirque de Soleil, it is reasonable expect a show full of dangerous looking acrobatics backed by music that as always, is compelling.
And so much of the Elvis collection covers generations and brings back memories to those of most ages.
This show chronicles the life of Elvis from his early beginnings through is best and worst days.
It is an excellent tribute, but the high wire acts are not what the show is about.
Certainly there is enough of it there to satisfy, but this show is about great editing of old footage with current voices. It’s about exceptional dancing and almost unimaginable set changes.
It is about the music of Elvis presented in its best possible sound.
Some people have not liked the show because of the lack of similarity to other Cirque shows. But as the headline says, judge it on its merits and you will leave satisfied
